September 2008 - Keeping it fresh!

departurelounge is 7 years old and going strong. Supporting our committment to contemporary experimental art and music we have taken a fresh look at our presence in the world and on the web. Since our cutting edge project 30 days in september, back in 2002, innovative use of the web has been important to us. Five years on we are taking advantage of blogging, podcasting and online video streaming to share our work with the world.

August 2008 - Roam the Rows, Chester

departurelounge performed at Roam the Rows festival for shoppers, tourists and passers by. We were delighted to present a two day programme of storytelling, music and instant collaboratiive performance at the heart of a spectacular and intimate festival.

For this two day festival of performance, we researched and presented stories and folk music from the local area, giving a fresh twist to material which reflected the rich history of the area.  It was particularly important for us that while being accessible we did not lose sight of the objectives and mission of the group.
